Long Island Institute of Professional Studies On-line Course Rubric and Statement All of our on-line courses are taught by our most experienced classroom instructors. We are proud of our distinguished and professional staff. The content of each course is highly relevant and designed specifically to enhance classroom instruction. Our goal is to improve the classroom experience for both teacher and student. A complete course description and syllabus is available for each course. In order to register for our on-line courses, students must have access to a computer, printer and software compatible with Microsoft Office (word processing). Students must also have an e-mail account. Preferably a home account as school accounts can be blocked. Students should also be familiar with using a computer as well as the operation of sending and receiving e-mail as well as searching and using the internet. Prior to the first session, students will be contacted and directed to our course where they can print or download the course syllabus, assignments, course requirements and reference material. All assignments must be well prepared and submitted in a timely basis. Courses may require quizzes and tests. Each student must demonstrate complete understanding and mastery of the subject area. All work is completed on an individual basis. Our courses are not a cooperative learning unit or effort unless group projects are specifically assigned by the instructor. Upon successful completion of all course requirements, students will be mailed Certificates of Completion to your address on file. To register for an on-line class you can call, e-mail or mail registration. You can pay over the phone, e-mail or mail. Full payment is due by the last day of class. Please note that If you do not pay prior to the first class or early in the scheduled class dates there may be delays in receiving your certificates.
